A White House executive order Monday slashed the "de minimis" tariff on China shipments to 54% from 120%, with a $100 flat fee starting May 14.

Also on Tuesday, it was reported that China has lifted its ban on Boeing (BA) plane deliveries.

China begins issuing rare earth export permits China has started allowing some companies to export rare earth magnets again"materials that are essential for making things like electric cars.

This is what winning the trade war looks like. De minimis tariffs of 54% plus $100 flat fee basically is a meaningless concession as even with the reduced tariffs - those imports still drop to zero. In exchange, China is importing Boeing again and we get their rare earths. Total capitulation from China.
