Echoes of Hitler Make Trump da World’s Most Dangerous Man

The president's casual cruelty to his cabinet reveals echoes of 1930s Germany, says The Daily Beast's Chief National Correspondent David Gardner.

Trump is not an ideologue. Hitler wrote Mein Kampf. Trump wrote The Art of the Deal (or his ghostwriter did). But he is an emboldened president.

Through an astonishing combination of guile, instinct, foresight, and plain luck, Trump finds himself in a position of unchallenged power in the White House.

And through an equally astonishing lack of courage and character from an entire segment of Americans, starting with the GOP leadership, who always claimed that they knew better and were better.

Yeah, Trump is Hitler. Or Idi Amin. Or Pol Pot. Or (fill in the blank).

He's still a relatively weak dictator now, but if he and his criminal allies get their way then we're going to realize what should already be clearly seen---That places like Alligator Alcatraz are meant for everyone.
