A US Army NCO is in custody after he allegedly used his personal handgun to shoot five fellow soldiers this morning at the Fort Stewart military base in Georgia. The five wounded soldiers are in stable condition and are expected to recover. The suspect, Quornelius Radford (28), is alive and in custody after being subdued by other solders. Radford is an automated logistics sergeant and was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. Radford does not have any combat history and will face court-martial charges. The suspect is believed to have been involved in a personal dispute with one of the victims and had an argument with him the previous day. The next day Radford arrived at Fort Stewart with a 9mm gun and opened fire on the soldiers.
There have been over 260 shootings in the US since Dotard Trumpf took office, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive. Every eleven minutes in the US a victim is killed by someone using a firearm. This incident makes the sixth mass shooting on a military base since 2000. Link: Five Previous Shootings on US Bases. Earlier this year in May, Radford purchased his 9mm pistol in Florida, which has some of the most lax gun control regulations in the US. An accusation is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
In May Radford went to Florida to purchase his 9mm handgun. So, one wonders how many months of racist nonsense Quornelius Radford put up with from MAGAts and neo-Confederates in his unit which drove him to this point of madness. Radford will spend decades, if not life, in military penal confinement after court-martial. He will endure a snowless gulag for a long time. www.staradvertiser.com
Quornelius Radford has a speech impediment and stutters. Fellow soldiers said he was hard-working. But he was mocked and bullied by some soldiers until he finally "went postal" on them. I wonder what the 1SG did about any of the bullying and the command climate? Link: www.nbcnews.com
