MSNBC to Be Renamed MS Now

MSNBC will have to take a new name in months to come as it seeks to carve out an identity that will have it competing for scoops and news with current corporate sibling NBC News.

MSNBC will change its name to My Source News Opinion World (MS NOW) and unveil a new logo later this year as part of the cable news channel's spinoff from the Comcast-owned media company NBCUniversal.

Didn't MSNBC start out as Microsoft NBC?
I remember that pretty clearly, and it's one of the reasons I never watched it. It didn't make sense and I couldn't stand Microsoft at the time.
