FEMA Employees Warn Trump Gutting Disaster Response

Employees at the Federal Emergency Management Agency wrote to Congress on Monday warning that the Trump administration had reversed much of the progress made in disaster response and recovery since Hurricane Katrina pummeled the Gulf Coast two decades ago. The letter to Congress, titled the "Katrina Declaration," rebuked President Trump's plan to drastically scale down FEMA and shift more responsibility for disaster response " and more costs " to the states. It came days before the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, one of the deadliest and costliest storms to ever strike the United States.

Well, no shit.

That was part of Project 2025, which Taco had no idea about.

FEMA helps people and Taco doesn't give one shit about people that are not billionaires who don't need help in disasters.

We'll allocate enough funds to cover one disaster, and have the governors of demolished states fight over it live on tv.

Something tells me hotwheels isn't going to do very well for his state. But, not the first time...

Honestly, though, do we want to send our tax dollars to folks who send their kids to camp in a floodplain and then chaulk it up to "God's will" that their kids got washed away in a flood. In a floodplain.

Not me!

I hate to say it, but if any Republicans had the balls to speak the truth in a thread where they would actually be right for a change, Trump is living up to his campaign promises on this one.

Trump promised to gut FEMA.

Republicans voted for that.
