Pentagon Downgrades Leadership Role for Air Forces-Europe

Unlike every other permanent USAFE commander since the late 1950s, [Lt. Gen. Jason] Hinds' new assignment will not come with a promotion to four-star general.

A Department of the Air Force spokesperson said the change was made in response to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's order to cut the numbers of general officers throughout the military.

But "go out there and draw fire".

And Pete "Hic!" Hegseth fired the US Navy Secretary Chief of Staff: www.navytimes.com

"Jon Harrison was a political appointee of Dummkopf Trumpf who had worked with USN Navy Secretary John Phelan on efforts to streamline the Navy's policy and budgeting offices after coming into their posts with many of the USN's biggest programs years behind schedule."

Harrison was supposedly a Trumpf loyalist, yet the Stalinist purges and inexplicable moves within the DOW continue.

Where it will get interesting is in COMUSAFE's traditional role as the commander of NATO Air Command. as a 3*, he will be equivalent rank to his Deputy Commander, and lower ranked than many of his NATO subordinate commanders. I wouldn't be surprised if NATO assigned the AIRCOM Command Billet to someone from another nation.

And perhaps they should. The US under the Trump Regime seems just fine with relinquishing many of its leadership roles around the world.

That is probably part of the point of this change.

Don't most Presidents do this? Here's what the righties called it....

Obama's Military Coup Purges 197 Officers In Five Years

What the president calls "my military" is being cleansed of any officer suspected of disloyalty to or disagreement with the administration on matters of policy or force structure, leaving the compliant and fearful.
