Democrats in Tie to Flip Congress Seat in Tennessee

The Republican and Democratic contenders for Tennessee's 7th Congressional District are locked in a dead heat, according to a new poll -- an unexpected shift in a seat President Donald Trump won by 22 points in 2024. Democrat Aftyn Behn and Republican Matt Van Epps are polling neck and neck in a Tennessee special election to replace former Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.), according to a new poll.

Even if she only comes close to winning it's another bad omen for the GOP/MAGAt party.

Big Bloodbath of Repukes coming in November 2026.

They know it's coming too.

That's why voter fraud is a concern.

The Republicans will be the guilty party.

They will pull out All the Stops.

Violence, Fraud,Corruption, you name it.

Trump CAN'T lose.

Van Epps (R) will probably win because TN Republicans gerrymandered the one solidly D district in Nashville into three that fan out into ruby red rural areas.

But a close showing by Behn won't be a good look for the GOP after early November's drubbings by Dems.

Even Mississippi's legislative GOP super majority is no more ...

@#1 ... Even if she only comes close to winning it's another bad omen for the GOP/MAGAt party. ...

Yup.

Pres Trump won that district by 22 points, and now the current election race is within the margin of error of the polls? (and I do note, the polling in the more local special elections typically is not as good as the polling in the more national general elections.)

OK, the GOP may win this one but, as you note, likely by a small margin.

So, let's say the results of this election go from Pres Trump's 22% win, down to a 2 or 3% win by the GOP.

What might that mean in a different district that Pres Trump carried by "only" 10%?

Stated differently, how might a 10% drop in voter results fare for the GOP in the 2026 midterms?

Also, the 2026 election is far away, lots can happen between then and now.
