Boston Church's "ICE Was Here" Nativity Display

The nativity scene at St. Susanna's Parish in Dedham, Mass., replaces the Holy Family with anti-ICE signs protesting U.S. immigration policies. The church pastor, Rev. Stephen Josoma, is ignoring a request from the Archdiocese of Boston to remove the signs.

"St. Susanna Parish in Dedham is standing by its nativity scene this year, ignoring a request from the Archdiocese of Boston. The nativity scene replaces the Holy Family with an anti-ICE sign protesting U.S. immigration policies.

The sign reads, "ICE was here," which is meant to imply that Jesus, Mary and Joseph were taken by immigration agents, according to WBUR.

Below the message is a smaller sign that reads "The Holy Family is safe in our Church ... If you see ICE please call LUCE at 617-370-5023."

"Yes, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were forced to flee their home and become refugees in Egypt to escape King Herod's persecution, meaning they were, in modern terms, immigrants and asylum seekers, a parallel often drawn in religious and social discussions about migration.

While they were Roman subjects moving within the empire, their flight fits the definition of seeking safety from violence and political threats, making them analogous to modern-day refugees and migrants."

@#3 ... They'll prolly end up in Ghana. ...

Yeah.

Pres Trump has succeeded in normalizing his disrespect for Due Process.

Now, just have masked, unidentified people abducting people off the street and then ship them to somewhere else.

Normalized.

A Nativity scene on display at a Chicago-area church depicts baby Jesus with zip-tied wrists and Mary and Joseph in gas masks in what its organizers called "a scene of forced family separation" amid a federal crackdown on crime and undocumented immigrants.

Back to the topic here ...

From the cited article ...

... "This installation is not subtle because the crisis it addresses is not abstract," the church said in a social media post. ...

Worth a repeat ...
