Russia's nuclear-capable missile deployed in Belarus

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says Russia's latest hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile has been deployed in his country and is ready for use.

... Lukashenko said on Thursday that the Oreshnik had arrived in Belarus the previous day. He revealed in September that Russia had begun transporting the missile system to his country.

The Oreshnik is said to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads. Russia has said the missile can travel at speeds of up to Mach 10 and has a maximum range of 5,500 kilometers.

Russia used the missile for the first time last year to strike the city of Dnipro in eastern Ukraine. ...
