... In her prepared opening statement to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Thursday, Hillary Clinton suggested the panel's monthslong Jeffrey Epstein investigation is "partisan political theater" -- not a quest for truth, transparency or accountability.

The former secretary of State's statement slams the committee for not asking President Donald Trump under oath about his appearances in the Epstein files or demanding testimony from Florida and New York prosecutors about Epstein's infamous "sweetheart deal" in 2008 that allowed him to dodge federal sex trafficking charges and plead guilty to lesser state charges.

"Instead, you have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump's actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers," Clinton said, according to her opening statement to the Oversight panel, which she posted on X.

"This institutional failure is designed to protect one political party and one public official, rather than to seek truth and justice for the victims and survivors, as well as the public who also want to get to the bottom of this matter," Clinton continued. "My heart breaks for the survivors. And I am furious on their behalf." ...

These slime ball Republicans are using the Survivors plight to tickle their Base's G spot.

Totally pathetic and outrageous... and done behind closed doors so they can spin whatever she says before the Public gets to see it.

It's like, "Benghazi!" all over again:

"Hillary Clinton put the controversy over terrorist attacks in Benghazi firmly behind her on Thursday after eleven hours of frequently meandering questions from conservative critics failed to dent the former secretary of state's campaign for president.

In what may prove a defining moment in the 2016 race for the White House and a disappointment for her presidential rivals, Clinton shrugged off an intense focus on her private email use and an informal adviser at a long-awaited but ultimately deflated hearing before US lawmakers."

The entire federal government is being used to protect Trump.

This country has turned into nothing more than another failed Trump acquisition.

"in order to distract attention from President Trump's actions"

It would take God himself to distract the world from Trump and the Epstein Files at this point.

"It's like, "Benghazi!" all over again:"

Former CJCOS Gates testified the idea 'a specialized team is trained and ready to drop into an ongoing firefight' halfway around the world was "a cartoonish view of the military".

Of course, the central salient issue regarding HRC "refusing to send troops" is, of course the fact the Secretary of State isn't in the military chain of command.

The Clintons are in the hot seat -- and lawmakers are hungry for Epstein-related prosecutions
www.politico.com

... House members are eyeing a new phase in their monthslong investigation into Jeffrey Epstein: A race to produce results that match the stunning Epstein fallout across the globe and satisfy an electorate clamoring for accountability. ...

This week's interviews of Bill and Hillary Clinton " who are scheduled to testify to lawmakers under subpoena and behind closed doors about their relationships with Epstein and his convicted co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell " could be a pivotal moment in this effort.

Bill Clinton has maintained that he was an acquaintance of Epstein's but stopped communicating with him at least a decade before his arrest in 2019, and he has not been accused of wrongdoing.

His spokesperson Angel Urena posted on social media in 2019 that the former president traveled on Epstein's plane four times internationally in 2002 and 2003, but that Secret Service details were present "on every leg of the trip." Hillary Clinton has said she has no memory of meeting Epstein at all. A spokesperson for the Clintons did not respond to a request for comment.

But the Clintons' depositions before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee come as the recent arrests in Britain of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, and ex-ambassador to the U.S. Peter Mandelson, have only intensified the pressure on Congress to produce similarly dramatic impacts closer to home.

That means both Clintons will be put under a microscope for any potential transgression, whether it relates to the late financier's sex trafficking conviction or not.

"Obviously, the committee wants to see some people be held accountable," said Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) in an interview in advance of the high-profile depositions. The former president will testify Friday, and the former secretary of state Thursday, both in Chappaqua, New York. ...

"Hillary Clinton calls for Trump to testify at US House Epstein hearing

The former secretary of state accused the Republican-led panel of seeking to protect political allies in probe."

In her statement, Clinton said that, if the House panel were committed to a fair investigation, "it would ask [Trump] directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files".

She also made a reference to an email exchange between Epstein and billionaire Elon Musk, released in a trove of documents by the Department of Justice.

If the panel were "serious", she wrote, "it would subpoena anyone who asked on which night there would be the wildest party' on Epstein Island".

Reporting is that Hil told the Committee they should just invite the Press into the Hearing NOW, since the pic was being distributed to Rwing Media, which it was.

They refused, of course. Now her people are demanding that the Transcript be released within 24 hrs.

Thomas Massie (R) names names of those who actually should be investigated... and gives a quick synopsis of where we are; the Law requires the release of the FBI investigation interviews and memos... and that is being IGNORED by Trump's DOJ.

@ 3:30 in

then the Dem Rep points out there are 90 full interviews with Survivor Victims that have NOT been released, as the Law requires.
