DODIG: US Military Bases Vulnerable to Drones

The DODIG reports: "Major military installations in the United States are unprotected from drone attacks because of bureaucratic confusion over which bases should be covered."

"The result of the bureaucratic garboil is some startling lapses in counter-unmanned aerial system defenses, even at installations that have experienced multiple drone incursions. For example, "Luke Air Force Base AZ, where F-35 training takes place for 75% of the world's F-35 pilots, is not designated as a covered facility or asset."

The vulnerability of bases in the US became a concern after last year's Operation Spiderweb, in which Ukrainian drones attacked airbases and destroyed parked aircraft deep inside Russia. Experts worry that if Ukraine could smuggle drones into Russia aboard trucks and launch a surprise attack, terrorists and other adversaries could do the same in the US.

The nefarious Trumpf junta recently disbursed $250m through FEMA to different states and agencies to protect FIFA 2026 games from drones. Moreover, DHS recently launched a new office to counter the threat of drones.

Such generosity from the Trumpf junta probably means that these funds will end up with loyal contractors or other White House insiders. Donald Trumpf Jr is on the board of a drone manufacturer in Florida.

Perhaps if at any time during the past five generations a Trump or two had ever actually served on one of those US military bases they might actually give a dam ...
