Americans' belief that they pay too much in taxes remains elevated for the fourth consecutive year, with 59% saying this.

For Trump and his cabinet: luxury jets, gold plated offices, and tax cuts for their closest billionaire allies. For you: higher gas prices, higher grocery prices, higher electricity prices - the list goes on. Less for you, more for them!

Residents in Germany and the Nordic countries don't mind their high tax rates because they see the results of their money every day when they drive to work on well-kept highways, breathe fresh air, drink clean water, become hospitalized without going bankrupt, or watch their children attend tuition free college.

Productive Blue States subsidize poor, polluting Red States that lead the US in firearm deaths and police brutality cases.

Oligarchs get tax breaks and live in luxury-- we must deal with the BBB and the insidious for-profit healthcare system.

Besides Eritrea, everyday Americans suffer with the absolute worst return for their annual tithes on the planet.

This is because it's going to fraud and grift. I have been saying this for 3-4 years now.

You can't open the borders wide open to all comers, then pay for their healthcare, housing, education and food; then tax citizens more without them complaining.

You can't have an open sewer on your city streets; then tax citizens more without them complaining.

You can't pay public servants more than those in the private sector; then tax citizens more without them complaining.

The starkest contrast I have seen is, outside of Bakersfield (a poor farming city) is a State government parking lot with brand new F-150,250,350s, and on the cities streets are driving 30yo vehicles.

Its really incredible to see first hand the contrast between the governments wealth and the peoples wealth.

So, now Americans will have three choices on the continent of where to emigrate to for universal healthcare (if they can swing the paperwork): Canada, Mexico, or Belize.

BTW: I know a NYC man who emigrated to Israel strictly for the universal healthcare.

I suspect that if Americans saw significant benefit from their taxes, instead of persistent and prevalent cronyism, perhaps sentiment about taxes could be different. But alas, the US is rife with corruption, which is only being compounded by the current regime. And nobody seems to know how to fix it.

If only there were other, better examples in the world to follow... But the selfish and unethical nature of much of the US populace stubbornly isn't going to let it happen.

It's been that way since 1980 when Raygun decided to cut taxes on the top and then raise social security taxes to hide the deficit that it created. Every administration since then has kicked the can down the road.

The chomo crime cabal has been working overtime to steal as much as they can from the treasury in the last two year because they know it is past the point of fixing. The GOP has created permanent structural deficits that will bankrupt this nation into third world status all to satiate the greed of the .01%. Democrats pay lip service to the financial mess with promises to raise taxes on the wealthy, but when push comes to shove kick the can down the road.

There is a reckoning coming when social security benefits will be cut by 1/3 and then all hell will break loose.

The GOP and the 1% has squandered the promise of the American dream for one more vacation home.
