Gov. Greg Abbott (R) has threatened to cut state funding to three of Texas' largest cities if they fail to change policies that the governor says limit police cooperation with ICE.
Meenu Batra is the only Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu court interpreter in Texas. She had spent most of her life in Texas, working and raising her kids. ICE detained her despite having humanitarian protection.

While good-for-nothing Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) frets nonsensically about Sharia law taking over the US and wanting to empower ICE, gun violence continues unabated in Texas, environmental disasters keep re-occurring, prisoners are executed, and is reeling; hardest hit are the construction and hospitality industries:
"Texas restaurant operators say labor shortages, rising costs, and worker fear have prompted an unusual alliance of industry and political leaders in Texas to call for legal pathways to hire immigrants." Source: Texas Restaurants Begging for Cheap Immigrant Labor
Meanwhile, young master James Talarico (D) raised a record-breaking $27m in his crusade to become the Democratic Party's US Senator representing the Lone Star State. Source: "No more forever wars"

Polling suggests young master James Talarico (D) is slightly behind the good-for-war Republicans.

*** Texas MAGA Republican Introduces Bill to Denaturalize and Deport Undesirables: 'The Mamdani Act' ***
"The xenophobic bill points specifically to NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), stating that "the very presence of Zohran Mamdani and those like him who champion Marxist ideologies" demonstrates how the immigration system "enables the mass importation of Marxists and Islamists."

AIPAC is an invasive species that is destroyed America from within.

Greg Abbott and Ron DeSatan are the two worst state governors in America.
Both should run for POTUS and VPOTUS in 2028 on their track records to ensure a non-Republican Party win.

@#9 ... In my area, the Hispanic labor force is practically gone. Construction and farming are grinding to a standstill. Good luck finding that affordable housing. They aren't building any. And good luck with those grocery prices when far less is getting planted or picked. ...
Not the first time I have seen a similar comment.
Significant parts of our economy seem to be based upon the dedication and labor of those undocumented aliens.
Farming, construction, to name two.
So, is the real problem those who come to the US looking for a better life, or the companies that hire those who may actually be illegal to hire?
Perhaps Pres Trump is going after the wrong crowd here.
To quote the Customs and Border Protection ...
An excerpt from the Border Patrol Union webpage that was deleted during fmr Pres Trump's first term:

Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens).
Walls and fences are only a speed bump. People who want to come to the United States to obtain employment will continue to go over, under, and around the walls and fences that are constructed.
Walls and fences will undoubtedly result in an increase in fraudulent documents and smuggling through the Ports of Entry.
Walls and fences do not solve the issue of people entering the country legally and staying beyond the date they are required to leave the country, a problem which will undoubtedly increase as more walls and fences are constructed.
