The lawsuit was filed by several Adams County sheriff's deputies after a raid on the rapper's house and a song he wrote afterward called "Lemon Pound Cake. The song's video used surveillance footage from the raid. The jury ruled in favor of Afroman and against the deputies on Wednesday.

Following Phillips' court appearance, Afroman defended his material in an Instagram post on Tuesday. "WHERE WAS THESE TEARS WHEN SHE WAS STANDING IN MY YARD WITH A LOADED AR 15 READY TO SWISS CHEESE ME ?" Afroman began in the caption.
