15 years from now, he'll (Vance) move over the line to being a traditional conservative....assuming he's no longer a threat to be a president. which is possible for quite a while unless Trump destroys him and his entire career...which is also possible.

It's a bigger issue than just Russia. Today's GOP (MAGA) have taken Trump's cue, and have become all to willing for America to become an authoritarian-run country.

What is so special about Russia's desire to control our presidential election? and will this desire change once Trump is out of the picture?

They want to be able to do what they want to do against U.S. interests and Trump plays along as a sucker for Putin's flattery.

Seems a lot of American MAGAt politicians are fond of Russia too. Old school conservatives stood up to Russia. MAGAts don't.

I never said "traditional conservatives" were a good thing.

But both of them did the right thing when push came to shove.

Romney called out Trump for January 6th. How many other of today's "conservatives" in Congress did the same? You can count them on two hands. And half of those matriculated when it came to convicting Trump during his impeachment for inciting January 6th.

Most of the principled conservatives in Congress were primaried or retired before their primaries. The rest bent the knee to Trump.

Among other highlights, Trump was focused on Twitter rather than protecting our democracy or the folks inside the Capitol.

Years earlier, Romney had read "Hillbilly Elegy" and was so impressed that he hosted Vance at his annual Park City summit in 2018, according to Coppins. At the time, Vance was a vocal Trump critic who once called the former president "America's Hitler" and "cultural heroin." But in the lead-up to his 2022 Senate run, Vance made himself over in MAGA's image.

If Russia cares greatly about the outcome of our election then so do many other countries in Europe, the Middle East, SE Asia....why the fascination with Russia?

Exactly! VPs do not set policy. Never have. Well, except for Dick Cheney's getting us to attack the wrong country, costing thousands of American lives, untold thousands of Iraqi lives, and trillions of dollars.

Harris is unwittingly desparaging her own record as border czar. Actions speak louder than words. I judge her based on what she did not by what she is saying she's going to do in a few months if she wins. Fact is everything she's claiming will do can be done RIGHT NOW. But it isn't and that speaks volumes.

If Chutkin releases it, which this article suggest she will, it'll remind the entire country of Trump's criminal efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and be on the news for several days thanks to Trump's big, whiny, lying mouth.

That wasn't an answer to the question of whether or not he'll admit Trump lost the 2020 election.

Vance refused to say Trump lost the election.

Which raises the question: "what would VANCE do if VP in 2028? Refuse to count the electoral votes?"

He's previously said he wanted 2020 to go to state legislatures to decide (and F*^# the voters, right?)

If so, and this case goes to trial, I can see a request for a change of venue in the making. The nation's Capital is not a friendly jury pool for Donald Trump.
