It's pretty much a damned if you do, damned if you don't wash.

Although I do buy that Trump would have more authority in a shut down than even this Bill gives him.

And that Dems have to do well in 2026 to have any chance at all of slowing this Authoritarian landslide.... which would be more difficult if they have a big, "We shut down the Gov!" sign around their necks.

Then again, I'm tempted to say F it, and hope Bernie is right that Dems can change a Narrative in mid-stream. Were I sure that Trump will still be a disaster by then, that would help.

But one never knows, do one? It would certainly feel good to blame Republicans for what Trump is doing to the country now, and see if that sticks. I think it may be too soon, but this is only a short stay of the Budget, and will have to be re-litigated in Congress pretty quickly anyway.
