Oh, and states can already go to permanent awful ("standard") time if they want. ONLY Arizona has done that. NOBODY else wants that nonsense. And my state has already passed permanent DST if the feds will let them.

There's only one good solution: DST in the winter, double DST in the summer.

If the message on the economy had been "We're making progress to fix the problems" then it would have been believable. But income inequality is as much of a problem now as ever. Homelessness is as much of a problem now as ever. People not being able to afford homes because they're being systematically bought by private equity and left empty is a huge ---- problem.

The minimum wage is still $7.25, where it's been for 15 years. It should be $25 nationally, and significantly higher in some cities, and NO EXCEPTIONS, the "waitress wage" needs to end. There should be ZERO homeless people. There should be ZERO student debt. There should be ZERO medical debt. And full employment is NOT 4%, it's 0%, if ANYONE looking for a job is not able to find a job we don't have full employment.

Do I expect Biden to have accomplished all of that? NO. Obviously he couldn't. But I absolutely DO expect that without having accomplished it, the messaging should have been "We're making progress, and we'll keep working on it" not "We did it" when housing and food costs are taking more of our income than they were eight years ago, and income inequality keeps getting worse.

Everything fascist China does is either fake or copied. It's just the nature of a dictator-worshiping society that original thought is not acceptable.

Do you know why we don't have supersonic airliners any more? It's because they're too expensive to maintain and waste far too much fuel. We know how to build them. We don't, because they don't make sense.

Yeah, I don't expect much out of Mr "49% of Americans don't pay taxes" - a blatant lie because everyone who actually earns an income pays a minimum of 15.3% federal income tax from the first dollar. He doesn't notice of course - because his only earned income is his senate salary. Everything else is unearned, which isn't subject to payroll tax. And most of his senate income isn't, it only applies to the first $168k.

There's precedent for price controls, particularly in an emergency like we were in during 2021. Biden could and should have pushed for price controls, price gouging was (and is) rampant and nobody in government did anything about it, or even made a serious attempt. In the early 1970s, even Rethuglicans were involved in regulating prices. Today even Democrats are so far right-wing that they won't even try.

High food prices are an easily solvable problem, and we know how to do it. Forcibly lower them.

Probably safer to warn them not to come at all. We still don't know how bad this is going to get.

Absolutely wrong.

Only the rich get this exemption. Social security tax kicks in from the first dollar of earned income. It's why the ridiculous claim that a huge percent of Americans don't pay income tax is a blatant lie, if you're working at all you're paying 15.3% federal income tax from the first earned dollar. It's only the next 10% that you don't have to pay on the first $14,600.

Radiology is always effectively in network now unless you intentionally choose somebody out of network. Has been since the No Surprises Act took effect in 2022.

I actually experienced that firsthand in 2022. I got sent to a radiology office for some x-rays that year, I actually asked at the front desk if they were in-network, I was assured they were. A couple months later an EOB showed up on the insurance website showing that I was about to get a bill for several hundred dollars because the radiologist was out of network. I was all set to have fun telling them I was not going to pay, because new law. But I didn't even end up having to, I never got that bill, a few months after that a new EOB showed up to replace the first one, it was fully covered.

And before you say something else stupid, my father did that, a minimum wage job in the 1950s would EASILY more than pay for an entire year of tuition at a state university.
