MAGA's Blue-collar Base Waits Patiently for Populist Payoff

Trump is fighting the culture wars for his MAGA base but that's it. If they think he's going to put money in their pockets, they have seriously misjudged him and the republicans. I wonder if fighting the culture war is enough? Will the satisfaction of seeing Hispanics and Blacks beaten down be enough to make up for the lack of jobs, no medical care and an empty dinner table?

Social Security Trust Fund dollars have been invested in the United States. Given that the United States can literally PRINT money, what safer investment can there be? The only real threat to Social Security is a president ---- bent on tearing down the US thereby wrecking its economy and international standing.

MAGAts are to blinded by hate, which, when coupled with stupidity, makes it nearly impossible for them to realize that they are being used and will be victimized just like everyone else. Trump and republicans will do nothing to improve the lives of MAGAts; that will take money and time. However, he can make them "feel better" by fighting the culture war.

I suspect that Trump told Putin during their last conversation that he was getting tremendous pressure from senate republicans to help Ukraine and get tough on Russia. As a result, Russia escalated their attacks on Ukraine, hoping to administer the coup de gras. While Russia is trying to deal its death blow, Trump was to up the anti Russian rhetoric, making it appear as if he is tough on Russia when in reality it is just a delay tactic to keep republican senators from turning up the heat.

Dems need to make the point that farmers' anger shouldn't be solely focused on Trump. It needs to broaden to include the republicans that enable him.

Perhaps it is wishful thinking but I don't believe that SCOTUS is going to betray the American people. They are not blind to Trump's bad acts and will not let ideology overrule their desire to maintain the constitutional order. I expect more 7/2 decisions with Alito and Thomas being the sell outs.

These federal judges are no joke! DOJ is getting its head handed to them in a platter. Let's see if SCOTUS can keep the ball rolling. They can forget their summer "break". They are going to be very busy.

Kennedy doesn't want people following his medical advice but he's ok with them living with the consequences of his opinions imposed on HHS.

So, please, enlighten us how this entire article and your viewpoint isn't the EXACT same thing Reps do.

The viewpoint that distinguishes the two parties is who is intended to be the primary beneficiary of their policies. If the intended primary beneficiary is the general public, it's something that democrats/liberals can support. If the intended primary beneficiary is the wealthy business owner, it's something that republicans/conservatives support.

As with any policy that is enacted, businesses will rush in to provide whatever products and/or services that would result from the policy. That business benefits from a left leaning policy is not a reason to conclude that the parties are the same.

There should be no problem making the information public as long as it is factual -AND- the government can be held liable if it is responsible for false and/or uncorroborated information being made public. In some respects it would make people less suspicious of the DOJ failing to investigate a crime that could prove embarrassing to a powerful person.

I guess this is why MAGA wants to rid the country of DEI?

The US should get a fair rate of return on its investment in medical research.

Patel understands that he has, in effect, a no show job. Trump calls all the shots and he, Patel, just executes. As a result, why should he have to prepare and present a budget to congress?
