Well yes you do need permission if you would like to keep your job. And if you are in a place like this with limited employers you don't just leave at risk of losing that job - especially not knowing what was coming. We lose power once or twice a year for more than a couple of minutes at one plant or another. Workers don't just "leave". Typically after a about half an hour we have heard from the power company and if the outage is expected to be over soon they are required to stay. They ARE getting paid.

As for the rising water and flooding I agree. unless there was higher ground I was aimed at - not going to be doing that - but - what do you do? Just go to the roof?

Look neither side in this is right and frankly what Israel has been doing in Gaza is abhorrent. I lose no sleep over Nasrallah having a miserable demise than I would over Nuttyahoo doing the same. Speaking frankly, a solution is needed to end this ceaseless conflict. Israel will commit genocide to achieve it. None of what has happened in the region in the last 100 years is right. We must acknowledge our own role here.

Frankly, I don't think she even gets to be president at this time. This is the strongest display of MAGAtism I have seen to date going on in my area. I can't believe the number of signs I am seeing and where. Throw in the fact that the Arab population has gone virulently anti Biden/Harris over Gaza and now Lebanon. They don't get it. They are saying Trump would stop Nuttyahoo. I am telling them Trump would give him everything he is asking for - and then triple it. As it stands I believe sadly that Trump carries Michigan.

So here's the amazing thing. The oil that isn't going into running these electric things is causing global consumption to be dropping and oil prices to be lower. They are also lowering the demand for gasoline and therefore dropping your gas prices - except - big oil is playing refinery games creating artificial shortages...

On that note... Body cams - I am sure the police do use them in the way that is mentioned. It's funny how many times they "fail to record" encounters of significance or are turned off though.

Sean Paul Reyes - that guy is a genuine fight for our rights guy. I watch his videos occasionally. Always respectful but asking questions and expecting answers. He shows why police need to be wearing body cams and rarely does he run into officers who respect the actual law. I don't know how many times he has been arrested but it is a few at this point. When he finds "tyrants" he does go after them.

This may actually be a sign of some of the tide turning on Russia. If India is no longer willing to by fossil fuels from Russia... I mean they were slurping up a LOT of the oil.

When you look back he was actually NOT one of worst Presidents but he was middling. Turns out the GOP even back then was doing what they could to sabotage elections - like collaborating with new leaders of Iran to avoid releasing hostages before the election on the Iranian hostage crisis. The same ones they have ranted against ever since.

He is a great diplomat and defines what a Christian should seek to be. Overall he is a remarkable man. He single-handedly lead the fight and ended the Guinea worm disease in Africa. Only the second disease ever eradicated in history. He contributed to the fight on many other diseases as well. Physically remarkable too. In addition to volunteering into his 90s he survived Melanoma cancer that went to his brain in his 90s.
