I have had a couple of S corps. Similar thought to your reasoning, I had partners and we decided S Corp was the more preferable route.

I don't debate the purpose of incorporating. The thought they are "people" however is ridiculous. A corporation cannot go to prison but executives and workers can and do. That essentially proves the corporation is not a person and I do not believe it was correct to interpret a corporation to be a person or citizen for that matter. That is an important technicality I believe. A corporation cannot vote. Yet according to Citizens United it can spend all the money it wants on elections. Ridiculous.

If you or I were to plead guilty to these charges we would go to prison at least briefly. PEOPLE committed the crimes, I do not believe corporate shields should protect them from that. I do not mean the fall guy middle manager either.

There's nothing wrong with RT. Reading is not a crime.

That's well said. They were specifically created to SHIELD people. Corporations that commit crimes, someone better be going to prison. That would change the behavior real quick.

That was some great legislation. Soooo many people got screwed by things like that. It is like this - I am going to XYZ Hospital/Clinic/Whatever. Any service there should be rendered by that provider or billed as if it were. These places all started breaking off into their own entities BECAUSE of our broken insurance in this country. I am 100% for a single payer system period. I have experienced two of them as an outsider non-resident - YES PLEASE!

As much as the insurers would like to believe this, operating rooms are nothing like the Assembly line at Ford.

Actually they are getting closer and closer to assembly lines. I mean there have always been surgery days that a surgeon goes in and does x surgeries that day. NOW, doctors are signing contracts with hospitals that employ them that they will do so many surgeries per week and the numbers to me are stupid high. Two of them I know have talked about it. The Nurses I know that work with them says it makes them less than great surgeons to say the least. They are rushed and have more complications. Since those complications usually result in more billable hospital and doctor hours - do you think the hospitals actually care? Hospitals have been losing money since COVID, so they really don't care now. The one doctor I know does cosmetic surgery. I personally know 3 women that had reconstructive surgery done by him in the last couple of years that had major complications. What's his MO? He blames the patient for not doing what they were supposed to do post op. Let me tell you these women are mad because they DID DO what they were instructed to do... And none of them even sued...

And why should corporations have anonymity at all? So many of the Panama Papers international money hiding and laundering used "companies" based in Delaware, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada. I think Wyoming is actually the biggest one now replacing Delaware.

Agreed. I deal with this kind of stuff regularly on a smaller scale. "What is the actual problem we need to solve." That is where I find most people and organizations fail, they never go to the root.

Nippon Steel is not the worst possible purchaser for sure - they are not Chinese... But US Steel should be seen as a strategic US company and needs to remain US owned.

They voted it out. Shocker. Not.

He better be careful, might get conscripted. That'd be a tragedy...

Unfortunately I am not paying the Times... But that one sentence alone makes me understand how ethically "challenged" the court is.

The decision should be between the patient, parents of a minor, and their doctor. No idiot politician with a GED needs to get involved.

I think all too often a parent is being an influencer.

While I do believe in Trans rights, I really struggle with allowing children to make these decisions. The reason being they don't KNOW what they are doing and don't have the ability to make an informed decision. If they had that ability we would consider them adults.

On the other hand the only time the GOP wants to consider them adults is when there is a crime...

Folks it isn't about actual Treason. It is about planting a seed. Undermine the "deep state" - the bureaucracy that ensures the country continues to function no matter who is in charge, the people who know how to make things actually happen. I kind of agree by that I mean people were upset about the costs of everything. This is the nonsense that shows the average American is clueless. So much of this is out of government control. It had little to nothing to do with money pumped in by the government. The whole this is so complex. Some of the main drivers:

1. COVID period. The economic costs of just the illness are massive.
2. Chronic goods shortages driven by China's extended lockdowns. This drove up the price of virtually all goods.
3. Mass knee jerk cancellations of orders by automakers of chips.
4. The high price of beef due to climate change impacting feed.
5. Avian Flu's impact on poultry farming driving up eggs and chicken.
6. Massive floods multiple years in prime farming areas of the Midwest.
7. Corporate price gouging. Record profits in the face of all these challenges. AKA Greedflation
8. All this is driving sky high insurance.

As for fuel prices - they are NOT high. I mean at the end of Trump's first term they were low because oil prices were negative and there was no demand. Biden was providing leases to American companies. The deal with them though was they had to be used. You couldn't buy them and sit on them as they did in the past. You also had Russia start a war that drove up the price of oil and we are still seeing the impact of. ALL that and I just paid the least I have paid for gas since the very beginning of COVID. A good deal of that is due to the increasing popularity of EVs - and yes sales are up significantly again in the US but massively up globally.

You can't have it both ways. You can't cry "socialism" or "communism" says Dems are anti-capitalism and be against corporations doing what they are designed to do by the current right wing take on shareholder capitalism. Can you imagine the outrage if the government put a cap on prices charged by companies?

I am so over the idiotic talking out of the side of your mouth hypocrisy.

I say this as I am again suffering from the selfishness of humans.

If it wouldn't impact everyone in the end I say let them drink their raw milk. I mean if it was only Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria or Campylobacter - let them make themselves sick kill off their sprouts. There was a reason pasteurization was created - milk....

When it comes to avian flu, unfortunately they are helping it look for a path to infecting humans at large. They are playing roulette just like people playing in bat caves without proper precautions...

Uh the former sheriff essentially said that in his comments. The whole force of 4 people resigned. I have seen this in a couple small towns around here. 3 to be exact. The police themselves up to no good, get called out for it and suddenly most or all resign.
