- A friend works in military relocation and came into a really large number to a location he had deal with this last week. He said it was unprecedented in his time. He's just one cog so others received a similar share.
- I am hearing about call ups from the National Guard to active duty.
- And call backs to duty for those out of the service (pilots).
- Worry about the rate of consumption of the navy's defensive missiles...

All in the past week.

Iran?
Taiwan?
North Korea?

He used the program to get an appointment at the border and did what he was directed to do all the way through. He didn't "just show up". Go read. There is a fair amount of information available on this case. It would seem his lawyer made it available. He was to have a court appearance that was cut off by his detention. Regardless, he was not illegally here. He violated no laws and he did things as directed. He served with our military.

It shows that state wall is redundant when the Feds do their jobs.

1. Deporting people with legal status working through the immigration court system for no reason - left and right.
2. ICE both stopping and arresting American citizens who they have zero authority over - left and right.
3. Stopping people illegally without authority for suspicion of being an immigrant.
4. Deporting AMERICAN CITIZENS "accidentally" because they fail to follow due process.
5. Federal Authorities using the claim of "improvidently" given or issued visa over and over with out any explanation of why. Such as in the case of the Afghan who served the US military as an interpreter who has followed literally all the rules.

I have yet to see ANY evidence of them going after the bad guys they said they would pursue. You know MS-13 and the like... Their big fail included sending a man with legal status out of the country and others with no tie to criminal activity and without due process.

Not record breaking heat here yet but been forced to stay inside due to Canada wild fires most of the last month.

My friend defended this practice last night saying they were afraid of being doxed.

My reply was "So what?" If you are doing something you believe in, why should you be afraid of being identified? They should be REQUIRED to identify themselves to members of the public otherwise there is no accountability. They are public servants and the claim is they are going after bad guys - you know like the former US Military interpreter from Afghanistan allowed legally into the country who showed up for his hearing and was arrest prior to it on the silly "improvidently" issued claim they are blanket using now.

This isn't Mexico where the cartel will come for you and all your family to torture and kill you and they aren't raiding cartel operations. If you don't feel strongly enough about the job to do it and be identified doing it, find a new job.

Besides we have had many cases in the past year of masked people pretending to be police and committing crimes. I am not talking about the lunatic in Minnesota either.

I am just against the surveillance state period but this? Wow. I know the city I work in does use LPRs. They are using it as a way to find and track suspects in violent crimes and drug trafficking or so they claim. I don't necessarily disagree with using them in that way as the city has a high crime rate and has forever. The problem is that isn't all they use them for as this EFF article pointed out. Witch Hunts on a suspicion.

I did a binge on John H Bryan's ("The Civil Rights Lawyer") youtube streams recently. I did nothing but lose more respect for the police forces of the US. Honestly, I love listening to Steve Lehto's legal streams as well - kind of the same thing though when it comes to public servants. WTH are our police and officials thinking?
