Going thru that now, 2 days a week to do a job I can do w/out the commute.
The amusing thing is the person who is our Director is spouting off the corporate mantra about the importance of maintaining the office environment, totally on board with the "in office" mantra and ignores the reality that while he's Directing our team from his office, HIS office is in NC, OUR office is 4 states away.
It's like, as a country, we've just gone thru 2 years of proving we can do it fine, but no, they want us in the office. He replaced another director like, 8 months ago last November, never been in the same room with him or really had much interaction. I've talked to him on the phone, but that's it. I know what he looks like (from MS Teams) but have never met him in person and don't expect to until the next quarterly meeting in Sept, if then.
Luckily it's only 16 hours a week, not 40, but I'm sure they will start pushing. Gotta justify that lease.

Dunno, does sound pretty petty and stupid, but another story said that he didn't take them because he didn't want the noise to give them away.
You know, like in the movies when a someone is sneaking up on someone else and the phone rings.
