For the last couple of weeks or so, we've been paying $4.49/dozen for White Jumbo, Cage-Free eggs at Trader Joe's, which is 50 cents LESS than for White Large, Cage-free eggs (I can't explain it and neither can the people working in the store). Before the recent bird-flu epidemic, the normal price for a dozen White Large, Cage-Free eggs at Trader Joe's was $2.49. At the local Ralph's and Albertson's the price for a dozen White Large, Cage-Free eggs have been running eight or nine dollars or more.

To start with, at the time that these people registered to vote, North Carolina law did NOT require voters to produce a drivers license or supply their Social Security number. That's what Judge Griffin wants the Court of Appeals to do, go back and make a retroactive change to the law, adding those requirements, thus invaliding some 60,000+ voter registrations. I'm sorry, but ex post facto laws are explicitly forbidden by the US Constitution (Article I, Section 9, Clause 3 for federal laws and Article I, Section 10, Clause 1 for state laws).

And for those whose Latin is a bit rusty, "Ex post facto" means "after the fact". Which as defined in the Constitution means, that you can't deprive an individual of a right or charge him with a crime, for something that was legal at the time that he exercised it or committed it.

And these 'gold card' holders will be exempt from having to pay federal taxes on their foreign income, unlike American citizens. This means that they could move here, buy some mansion at one of Trump's golf resorts or a penthouse in one of his buildings, and live the life of an oligarch while enjoying all of the benefits of being an 'American', but without having to pay a single dime toward supporting any of it.

Speaking of throwing people under the bus, Trump is now saying that he had nothing to do Musk getting a Pentagon a supposed briefing over our war plans with China, that that was Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's idea.

And he's also claiming that sending all of those alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, that was Marco Rubio who came up with that one.

Think about it people, there's far more money to be made in treating cancer compared to simply making it go away, so an outright cure is a bad investment for the American people.

Much better for the American people to have incurable cancers, they can still get a little treatment, and more importantly, serve as a source of revenue until they die from cancer we didn't invest in curing.

Tell me about it. I've been diagnosed with stage-four prostate cancer. There is no cure and it's inoperable, but it can be treated with a drug regimen, a combination of injections every six-months and an oral medication that I have to take daily. The injection, which is a hormone suppressant, costs $3,700/injection, but it's covered 100% by my Medicare Part B. The oral medication, four tablets which I have to take every morning, costs $17,900/month. Now we have Medicare Part D, which this year caps my out-of-pocket maximum expenditure at $2,000, so it's not as bad as it sounds (if Musk/Trump doesn't screw it up that is). So far, it appears that the treatment has been effective (I've been on this course of treatment since this past October) and the prognosis looks good for the near future, at least for the next three to five-years, which by then there might be more effective treatments, if you can pay for them that is.

We tend to avoid the Spectrum and do more shopping at the Marketplace. Our favorite restaurants in Tustin, for breakfast on Sunday after church, is Spires on Newport Ave. Our favorite Chinese restaurant is just across the street, China Garden. And when we're out for something special or to celebrate, it's Barolo Cafe, a little farther down Newport. We've known the owners for years as well as some of their staff.

I'll admit that when we eat out, it's almost always in Tustin. We also go to a gym in Tustin. The drug store that we use is in Tustin as well as that's where the Trader Joe's that we shop at is located. The Costco that we shop at and buy gas at is in Tustin as well. Now we do go to church in Irvine and many of our parishioners are from Tustin.

Our youngest son and his wife comes and stays with us during the Winter months. This past winter, they arrived in late October and just left a few weeks ago. They both work for an IT company that helps corporations and organizations recover from malware and ransomware attacks. They can work from wherever there's a high-speed internet connection. Back in Michigan, they live out in the middle of the woods on 22 acres of woodland (they utilize a Starlink connection). They also have a cabin on a lake about 70-miles south of their home where they spend a week or so a month during the better weather times of the year, where they have a normal cable internet connection.

As for our other two sons, the oldest travels a lot for his company as he's the brand executive for a chain of high-end steak and seafood restaurants, several of which are located on the West coast (one only 10-miles from our house) so we see him several times a year. And up until about six-months ago, our middle son lived in LA, about 40-miles away, and he still comes down on a regular basis because his ex-wife has their 10-year old daughter.

And we make it a point to travel to either Michigan or Texas every other year or so. This year, we'll be visiting both states, later this spring for a family visit to Michigan (both my wife and I are from Michigan and still have family back there) and in November, it's off to Texas for granddaughter #2's wedding.

The top three 'happiest' cities in America are located in California, and we live in one of them, Irvine. And except for a 17-month period where we had been transferred to one of the three 'unhappiest' cities in America, we've lived in Irvine, California since 1980. All three of our sons went to school here and graduated from high school here, however, none of them currently live here. The oldest son lives in Katy, Texas (about 25-miles West of Houston). Our middle son lives near Portland, Oregon. And our youngest son lives in Lake, Michigan, a very small town, about 150-miles North of Detroit.
