This story neatly underlines what a stupid and malicious person Trump is. It illustrates his lack of patriotism and reminds us that he really wants the United States to lose the bext war.

There are no greater enemies of the United States than Trump/Putin and Musk.
What do these people expect to get from the smoking ruins of this country?
Is it a "better to rule in Hell" sort of thing?

Looking into the future, either Trump will kill Musk or Musk will kill him. For what should be the obvious reasons.
This is the sort of ancient political dynamic the Constitution was intended to prevent.
But I understand that MAGA pines for a post-Constitutional age.

There is no bridge too far for Republicans, two months into supporting Trump's insanity.
Only forty-six more months to go!

FDR was probably our most extreme far left presidential candidate and America voted him into power four times. The first and only President to serve 4 terms.

we could speed it up. Stop hammering Musk in the press and conduct polling that says Musk's favorability rating is significantly higher than Trump and leak it to the white house. CNN, Rasmussen, Gallup, etc....if they all managed to leak polling that said Musk was more popular (or less hated)...that would piss Trump off.

It might be hard to float that idea as White House Sales Event and commerce secretary insist that people buy into Swasticars.
They know full well how this is playing out.
Musk appears shaken in his responses, but still manages to lie undeterred.

As predicted, Trumpf is realigning US national security away from Russia and more onto China. This US State Dept Rewards for Justice announcement is a "two for one," combining China and Iran. The USIC was already targeting malign actors within Iran and China, along with Russia. Some lunatic Israeli Settlers were sanctioned by the Biden administration. From now on we will only see Beijing and Tehran being targeted: www.state.gov

Right, they just regularly refuse to call them out and sometimes even pander to them, which damages the credibility of their less extreme candidates with the mainstream. Democrats really need to recognize the mistakes they made which allowed someone like Trump to come into power twice.

Speaking of throwing people under the bus, Trump is now saying that he had nothing to do Musk getting a Pentagon a supposed briefing over our war plans with China, that that was Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's idea.
And he's also claiming that sending all of those alleged Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, that was Marco Rubio who came up with that one.

Trump is a compulsive liar.
My Spidey Sense tells me that Elon Musk is being primed to replace J.D. Vance as Vice President . . . and Trump's chosen successor in 2028.
I think the meeting at the Pentagon was to get Musk up to speed which means the switch-er-roo could be right around the corner.
If true, Peter Thiel will become one of Trump's worst enemies.

What? Why? That makes no sense.
Vance is in a rather meaningless position. There's no reason to create drama and strife by replacing him when Musk has been allowed to run amok despite not having any legal authority to do so.

It isn't about what Musk is doing NOW. It's about 2028 and Trump's chosen successor. Another "strongman," so to speak, to continue to carry out the GOP mission.

According to Trump, Musk and Hegseth, China wasn't even part of the meeting topics. It was about tech and innovation. Are they lying? It's possible. Are these anonymous sources lying? Also possible. I tend to put a bit more credence in the word of people who go on the record as opposed to anonymous sources. But this tracks with how NYT covers politics.
