However, you're either arguing against a straw man that religion is the only cause of these conflicts (which no one has claimed), or you're promoting a false premise that religion plays little or no role at all. 'Boko Haram', which literally means 'Education is sinful', is an extremist Islamic sect. Of course, groups like that always conflate secular grievances with their cause to gain sympathy for their activities.

By parroting the anti-western narrative, you're playing right into the hand of the local xenophobes and bigots, as well as outsiders like the Russians and Chinese who've been stoking that so they can exploit African countries themselves.
