Orders for durable goods, items ranging from toasters to aircraft meant to last three years or more, jumped 9.2% last month after slightly downwardly revised 0.9% gain in February, the Commerce Department's Census Bureau said on Thursday. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast durable goods orders advancing 2.0% after a previously reported 1.0% gain in February. read more

"The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2" publication " which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak theory " was prompted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated naturally. Dr. Fauci's Senior Advisor, Dr. David Morens, deliberately obstructed the Select Subcommittee's investigation, likely lied to Congress on multiple occasions, unlawfully deleted federal COVID-19 records, and shared nonpublic information about NIH grant processes with EcoHealth President Dr. Peter Daszak. Public health officials often mislead the American people through conflicting messaging, knee-jerk reactions, and a lack of transparency. Most egregiously, the federal government demonized alternative treatments and disfavored narratives, such as the lab leak theory, in a shameful effort to coerce and control the American people's health decisions.
The first bit of hard tariff data just arrived, but not in the way you may have expected. Retail sales rose 1.4% in March, according to new Census Bureau data out Wednesday, posting the best reading in over two years. read more

In not wanting low income housing? Yeah, it is universal. Dems virtue signal - but at the end of the day, they shut that ---- down too.
Here are your Bay Area liberal hypocrites blocking these type of projects:
"NBA star Steph Curry has joined neighbors in wealthy Atherton who object to the Bay Area city's plans to build multifamily and affordable housing. The immediate object of concern for Curry and wife Ayesha is a potential 16-unit townhome development situated on 1.5 acres near their $30-million home."
sports.yahoo.com
Remember - these are the DNC mega-donors in Pelosi's district making sure the results of Democrat policies are as far away from them as possible. They don't want to live next to the 'poors'.
"ScottS state no democrats want affordable housing, ignoring all the recents construction happening in Los Angeles to provide just that."
therealdeal.com
The average cost to build an affordable housing unit in Los Angeles is cited as $500,000.. LA 'affordable' housing is a scam to line developer pockets - which is why few ever get built and the city is being investigated over where it embezzled $12B in homeless funds.
"As well as section 8 housing."
Literally NO ONE wants section 8 housing - don't pretend Dems want it. There is no faster way to destroy a neighborhood than bringing in section 8 housing units (and the trash that lives in them).
"As well as habitat for humanity. Which Trump attacked."
He said they have a waste, fraud, and abuse problem - which is true. It is great in concept and I applaud Jimmy Carter for all of his work with them - but, the reality is that Habitat for Humanity and a lot of other government supported development groups are filled with fraud and abuse.
"Meanwhile republicans have zero plans for the homeless, other than to blame democrats.
#13 | Posted by ClownShack"
The GOP has an actual plan - fix the economy for the low skilled by bringing back manufacturing jobs, deporting the illegals so that they stop suppressing wages, and enforcing drug laws so people can fix their addiction problems. Do that, and we won't have a homeless problem. Which is why the Democrats are fighting them - if homelessness disappears, the Dems won't have voters anymore as all they promise to voters is handouts. Make people self-reliant and they will never vote Democrat again.
"that is why Pres Trump seems to have capriciously abandoned Mr Navarro's tariff directives, and has put his tail between his legs in a major retreat.
#4 | Posted by LampLighter"
In what alternative world did that occur? Trump is negotiating the tariffs as he negotiates everything else - and has destroyed China in the process.
You probably missed this: "April 25 (Reuters) - China has exempted some U.S. imports from its 125% tariffs and is asking firms to identify critical goods they need levy-free, according to businesses that have been notified, in the clearest sign yet of Beijing's concerns about the trade war's fallout."
www.reuters.com
This comes after Xi's failed tour of Asia where none of the countries agreed to continue with the fraudulent trans-shipping trade to hide China as the country of origin:
"Vietnam's trade ministry has issued a directive to crack down on illegal transshipment of goods to the United States and other trading partners as it tries to avoid steep US tariffs."
"I have already explained it - the fact you see the explanation and simply deny reality is par for the course for you.

No you haven't. Because if you could, you would, rather than implying it's been explained.

Already explained to you -------. Here is from the US Federal Reserve:

Or how about this one from Harvard? Is that acceptable to you?

It should not even take these as this is 100% common sense.
"@#28 ... In not wanting low income housing? ...
And do not think for a minute that I did not see your current alias' change from "affordable housing" to "low-income housing" in this thread."
I call it low income housing because THAT IS WHAT IT IS. People need to qualify to rent or buy it based on having low incomes. The Steph Curry project that your liberal hypocrites blocked was 'affordable housing' - I can only imagine the outrage if it was Section 8. It would be like the time your illegal immigrant invaders landed in Martha's Vineyard.
"Both Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump have talked about what they would do to increase the supply of affordable homes and people's ability to buy them"
Housing affordability is only an issue in deep blue -------- cities that use zoning and permitting to restrict new units. Look at LA, San Fran, NYC - all huge housing issues and ALL 100% DEMOCRATS RUN. This is not the GOP holding things up - this is the Dems virtue signaling for the unwashed masses and then protecting their millionaire donors.
"One commonly used (though also criticized) benchmark for housing affordability is that no more than 30% of household income should go toward housing costs.
#30 | Posted by LampLighter"
And liberals are sticking it to these working-class people on both ends. First, they use zoning and permitting to drive up the cost and then they import illegals to suppress their wages.
