Yep. This is also why representation is so important, especially for children.
Think about it, a century ago, your child's representation of who they saw as heroes and such was almost entirely controlled, gate-kept even, by the parents and perhaps whatever church they attended. So the problem of being a black child and seeing black people mostly indicated as criminals on TV wasn't even a concern, before TV was being broadcast into our homes.
It's a completely different world now. Parents didn't grow up in a world with infinity TV channels and the Internet.
You can understand how people get ------ in the head and end up falling in with Trump.
