Do you have a legal right to be in this country? Could you prove that upon demand?

I used to think, as to myself, that proving I was an American citizen is no big deal.

I could show my birth certificate, right?

And then I realized that it takes just one ICE agent to make on on-the-spot determination that my birth certificate is forged.
