Amazon Prime edited a crucial scene from the film It's a Wonderful Life where George gets to see how things would have been in Pottersville had he not been born. Why on earth did they think they needed to cut that scene?

"He is an American citizen who was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas"
Driving around with an ISIS flag on his truck.
Who radicalized him if he was just a regular American?
The truck came over the border a month ago.
I'd bet so did his cohorts.

Lamp,
"Now, how many times have the hosts on, say, OAN or Fox News, made such an admission?"
Or the regulars on this site?

You didn't really read my post.

You know... there's something ironic about people in this world.
So many are obsessed with money just like the ones who live and breathe for it investing and growing rich.
Next time you're at a liberal think tank get together insulting half the country, take a moment.
Listen for the word "money."
That's the irony.
The love of money is everywhere whether or not you have much of it.

I got a chance to watch the film Hillbilly Elegy made from a book written by JD Vance about his life.
It was produced and directed by Ron Howard 4 years ago.
After seeing the movie where I didn't know much about him before. After seeing it I can see why Trump chose him.
Here's one interesting part in the movie. Ron Howard made the movie 4 years ago long before Vance was considered for the VP position.
The movie covers his childhood about as much as his adult life family and professional struggles coming from a Kentucky family being the first family member to go to college and Harvard at that.
One scene was him as a kid telling people to be quiet because he wanted to listen to Al Gore speak on TV.
I wonder how Howard feels that 4 years ago he had Vance watching Gore on TV and Vance ended up being the VP himself?

Laura,
"Me probably back in High School in the late 1980's"
I've talked about it in conversations here and there.
If you haven't discussed it since the 80's, sounds like all you care about is yourself.

Yes...the situation is dangerous.

He gave away the Panama Canal and now China has a dangerous amount of influence of both ends.
Smart move...

I do not believe in a religious litmus test contrary to what you assume.

You want her meeting world leaders and cackling?

"why the apparent adulation of Christians of Pres-elect Trump?"
Who says they do?
You need to get out more.
Voting for Trump and adulation of the man are not the same.
Many conservatives and Christians are like minded politically but that doesn't mean they have great respect for Trump personally or would defend his personal lifestyle.
You got it right when you said "apparent".
No...it's what the Trump haters want you to believe.

Donner,
Some believe Carter alienated evangelicals which coincided with the rise of Jerry Falwell and the Moral Majority shifting the evangelical vote to the right.
Carter was undeniably a Christian and was faith driven.
However some his presidency was good intentions and not always seen as effective leadership.

Gal,
Let's not forget Jimmy Carter was a Christian.
He believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
People honor this man yet dishonor and mock his religious beliefs.
Carter believed in the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, His life mission and His his death and resurrection.
Let that sink in for a second.
Carter was a believer.

Clown,
The copyright seems like a good enough reason but they still showed both versions.
I once saw an airing of A Charlie Brown Christmas on tv.
They had edited out Lucy talking about presents saying, "All I want is what I have coming to me. All I want is my fair share."
Sort of lost the whole point of the show.

Alex,
I know it's not your fault but Kamala was a sorry candidate not remotely capable of doing the job.
Does that just not matter to you?
Do you hate America or something?

"My best guess is the abridged version is offered to avoid having to pay residuals to the copyright holder"
It does seem to be a complex issue from what I just read.
However, from a judgemental moral failure POV, what we saw could have happened in Pottersville is pretty well on the mark what is happening across much of the US.
