Well, the pardons already seem to be backfiring.

One was pulled over for a vehicle infraction, had guns, and ended up being shot by a deputy.

Another is currently wanted for soliciting a minor (Per Daily Beast).

And the really big ones were already seen around the Capitol (talking to politicians) and now have been given free access to go there with the courts permission.

Won't end well, just sayin'...........

Well, I guess those people who thought pardons would just lay all the J6 invesigations to rest and get the GOP to governing the country were wrong.

They won't let it go - and it will be interesting to see how they divert from the obvious actions of their leader - one Don Trump.

If you buy into the rigged election only, do you buy into this.

Again, Trump had threatened these people on live television - mind you with zero proof.

While I agree this is not what a pardon is designed for, why would you not use it, esp on your own family?

And yet again, this is Trump breaking NORMS. We never really had issues before in the history of our country until he came along.

Not impeaching him brought us to this.

And these people did not receive that?

Trump doesn't like how J6 is being correctly told. He's totally innocent, according to him. And to back that, he pardons people from J6.

Trust me, if J6 didn't involve him he'd wouldn't give two ---- about those people.

Probably none. It's rich privledge - and they all play it including Trump and family. Remember the billion dollars given to his son-in-law (oh, BTW, the Dems totally ingored it).

But you had Comer looking everywhere to pin it on the Bidens and came up with nothing (other than a gun charge and tax envasion which we already knew about).

You keep talking about it and show nothing.

Meanwhile, Trump was actually charged. You may not agree with it - but at least the Dems actually put something on the table (albeit WAY LATE).

He's a lame duck President. Anyone who understands politics knows the ramifications.

His ardent supporters might think he's a king, but Congress has to be aware of independents and not bending to the King on everthing, because they'll potentially a lot longer than he'll be which is just four years.

As he gets deeper into his Presidency, he'll become less a presence (and that will kill him). Not literally, settle down.

Maybe Trump can defend the pardons for J6 by saying "It wasn't them....it was really my fault".

And of course, Trump is President so there's no fault.

1. Should Trump have been impeached for events leading up to, including, and after J6?

2. Should Trump have been charged with not giving back/posessing classified documents?

This is the world we live in with DJT.

We can't commit crimes. But don't say we do, how dare you!!!!

Generally I would be against these pardons - and still am. Because they did nothing wrong and that would be proven in a court of law.

But there lies the problem. These people would most likely have to defend themselves in such a setting - which would be time and money - in particular, a WASTE of both and make their lives miserable. And when you consider Trump (breaker of norms) says he would possibly come after them with his justice department, the question maybe should be why wouldn't you pardon these people. This is the world we live in with Donald Trump.

Trump, on the other hand, who considers himself a martyr - actually did commit acts worthy of having charges brought against him. He just believed he was above the law.

A lot of those voters where voting him regardless of what he did to be perfectly honest.

And - as a whole - Americans are really the most forgetful and forgiving when it comes stuff like this.

We can all agree - including Bellinger - that Trump should have been impeached for his conduct up to, including, and following Jan 6. That's a big key. UP TO, INCLUDING, and FOLLOWING Jan 6.

People get roped into just Jan 6 - no, that's wrong. There was a ton of impeachable offenses by DJT.

Deserved to be impeached: Correct.

2025: Here we are with a guy who is President who in no way deserves to be anywhere near the White House.

I'll start by saying legally - I go back and forth on Trump's guilt. Large part of me says without a doubt guilty, but there's a small part that says in the real world getting a conviction against a President would be difficult.

But as far as impeachable offenses - this is it. This man should be no where near the White House. This why you have impeachment.

Shame on the GOP for not nipping this in the bud. This is on them.
