"Struggling industry"? Oh? After the recent debacle in lease sales in Montana and Wyoming (one had only one bidder, buying the coal at less than $0.01/ton, and the other cancelled) its surprising that coal miners think they still have jobs. The US market is telling them there is no work for them to do.
Perhaps these folks should be given jobs building solar or wind farms, as a way to give them futures in growing industries. Of course, those jobs are in other countries, the US being backward, denying the future of alternative energy. Those miners can thank Der Dotard for putting them out of work...
