Nope.

Well yeah, any 120-year-old house does need more insulation.

But the problem was that gutters and downspouts were clogged with leaves and other debris - which I was unaware of. Hey, it was a big old house, with lots to take care of, and I'd never had this problem before. Once the gutters and downspouts filled with water, they froze and overflowed, freezing incrementally down the outside as well as the inside in the unprecedented cold as they did so. Some people lost an entire wall of their house when thousands of pounds of ice pulled it down. We did not!

But anyway, this was an extremely anomalous event for my part of the world.

Difficult days lie ahead for MAGA wackos. Get your rest now so you will feel alert and hopeful when... oops! It's time to meet your maker.

Dude. Ick doesn't even cover it. Back in 1994, my hometown had a low of -22F. After a huge snowstorm, we had icicles 40 feet long and two feet thick hanging on our three-story Victorian home. But we made it through with no significant damage. I miss that house!

Yeah, but see, this time we're expecting a foot of snow (give or take) from New Mexico to New England. Nearly 60 percent of the population is under a winter storm warning, the highest ever. Which, by definition, makes this novel.

I'm in a medium-sized city in north central Kentucky, which is expecting anywhere from 8 to 16 inches of snow, depending on whether sleet and freezing rain contaminate the snow total. Sixteen inches would break the all-time record for one snowstorm, and the records go back to just after the Civil War. So again, by definition, as novel as it gets.

But your snark is noted.

The Threads app has everything. There's even a video of the lifeless victim being taken away by the feds, not by ambulance, but in a pickup truck.

The victim was not in a position to be a threat to the federal agents. All he was doing was shooting video of the agents, who then pushed a woman to the ground. He went to help the woman back to her feet when he too was pushed to the ground, jumped, kicked and beaten with a tear gas canister. An agent apparently spotted a gun in the man's waistband and removed it harmlessly.

At no point did the victim brandish or point the gun.

Seconds later, he is shot five times.

You MAGAS telling me with a half dozen armed agents, they couldn't subdue a then-unarmed man who's on the ground without killing him?

At the very least, Trump's goon squad is antagonizing the situation with its hyper-aggressive presence in Minneapolis. Even from a tactical perspective, it seems like a bad idea.

We all know Trump loves him some violence and has a fetish for conflict and chaos, but he'd be wise to turn down the heat and withdraw. He has lit a fire that he can't extinguish by heightening bellicosity even further.

No, Effete. Trump has been appeased and babied and tolerated his entire life. He will never have something normal people call "enough." He must be stopped. One way or another, he must be removed from office. He should be imprisoned for life, but I'd settle for ending his presidency.

I enjoyed Dilbert back in the day. I was very disappointed when I learned more about the man behind the cartoon.

Cancer sucks, and I don't wish it on anybody. But racism and ignorance will diminish your accomplishments and will not take you to a happy place.

For the same reason he starred in a "reality show." The same reason he puts on all that makeup and wrestles with what's left of his hair, slaps his name on everything, is always working a new angle to get even more wealth, and surrounds himself with gold, pro wrestling and beauty pageant contestants. Because he's a shallow, superficial, empty shell of a man. He seems to think the Nobel peace prize will vindicate him, like we're not watching him in real time attempt to steal the prize from someone else!
