President Donald Trump on Saturday said he is nominating Amy Coney Barrett, a conservative federal appeals court judge, to succeed the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the US Supreme Court. Calling it a "very proud moment indeed," Trump called Barrett a woman of "towering intellect" and "unyielding loyalty to the Constitution." Barrett, Trump said, is "one of our nation's most brilliant and gifted legal minds."
Speaking before a Senate Committee, Dr. Fauci stated: "that a number of individuals who virologically have recovered from infection in fact have persistence measured in weeks to months of symptomatology that does not appear to be due to persistence of the virus," he said. On Friday, the CDC said that COVID-19 could spread through airborne particles that can remain suspended in the air and travel beyond six feet and recommended that people use air purifiers to reduce airborne germs indoors to avoid the disease from spreading. She was waiting for her COVID-19 test results after a vacation in Greece, where she reportedly partied several nights with a sore throat.
