Doesn't really matter if a majority of people support anything if they don't vote on that issue.

A majority of people favor universal background checks for guns (~80% is what I heard last). But we don't have one because 10% of the population will freak out and primary/vote out anyone who supports one. And that works where elections are decided by a couple percentage points.

His pomposity aside, Trump's election had much to do with this. Hamas understands that it has no leverage with the Repubs, so their whining would get them nowhere and Israel would only become more aggressive with them.

On the other hand, Trump's election will have the opposite effect with Putin, who will be banking on US abandoning Ukraine.

Too bad we don't have anyone like John McCain calling the shots. He would have told the Palestinians and Russia both to go get bent.

Tried to listen to the video, but those high notes were killing me.

Sure, let's give peace a chance. But I doubt that's what we're going to get. Israel will continue encroaching on the Palestinians and the Palestinians will continue refusing to admit that they have lost (again) and need to cut their losses and accept Israel's right to exist so they can finally have a Palestinian state.

In the meantime, I'll probably start feeling sorry for the Palestinians again until they commit their next atrocity.

Oh goody! A ceasefire! Like the one that was in place until October 7th when the Palestinians raped and murdered 1,200 Israeli civilian men, women, and children.

I guess there's always tomorrow for that Palestinian victory I was told was imminently forthcoming. Unless what happened to Gaza and Lebanon is actually the victory that was foretold.

Probably not. But a ban will make more people happy than unhappy. And when the Dems freak out or filibuster in the Senate and prevent a vote, it will make more people unhappy than happy. And that's how elections are won and lost.

Trump may have to be careful about how far he decides to go with what he wants to do.
