"I can't think of anything that would be this order of magnitude," said the group's senior policy director, Marc Goldwein, about the perceived effect a Trump presidency would have. Among the Trump policies that concern the committee are promises that Social Security recipients would pay no federal income tax on their benefits. Currently, 40 percent of beneficiaries pay taxes, which go directly back to fund Social Security. read more
Agraphic ad comparing journalists and celebrities who support abortion rights, including Whoopi Goldberg, to Nazis was recently aired during a commercial break on The View. The spot, aired on October 9, includes photos of 26 celebrities and journalists, including Chris Evans, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Rachel Maddow. "I am so sick of stupid celebrities and lying journalists," a voiceover says. "Why don't you fools follow the science?" The clip then shows images of what appear to be fetuses, and says, "This is a human being, human being, human beings," before referring to abortion as murder. It goes on to say of these celebrities, "If history even remembers you, you'll be remembered like Leni Riefenstahl and Joseph Goebbels," two Nazi propagandists whose images were displayed on screen. Randall Terry is a despicable human being and a God damned liar!
ormer Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson offered a damning assessment of the network as she explained just how bad its spread of conspiracy theories and misinformation has become. During an appearance on the CNN segment, "Democracy in Peril," Carlson discussed many aspects of Fox News' critical role in the spread of misinformation and falsehoods. Since former President Donald Trump took office, conspiracy theories have been on the rise and Fox News has become a driving force for it. Conservative primetime news anchor Tucker Carlson has been at the center of misinformation and the power of his opinion has begun to influence Republican members of Congress.
Today I heard Musk say they want to cut spending by 3 trillion dollars but no acknowledgement that Trumo's tax cuts for the rich and for corporations went mostly to top executives in bonuses etc.
"Was expensive and eroded the U.S. revenue base. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated in 2018 that the 2017 law would cost $1.9 trillion over ten years,[3] and recent estimates show that making the law's temporary individual income and estate tax cuts permanent would cost another roughly $400 billion a year beginning in 2027.[4] Together with the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts enacted under President Bush (most of which were made permanent in 2012), the law has severely eroded our country's revenue base. Revenue as a share of GDP has fallen from about 19.5 percent in the years immediately preceding the Bus h tax cuts to just 16.3 percent in the years immediately following the Trump tax cuts, with revenues expected to rise to an annual average of 16.9 percent of GDP in 2018-2026 (excluding pandemic years), according to CBO. This is simply not enough revenue given the nation's investment needs and our commitments to Social Security and health coverage."
