" I'm simply reminding you that you've actually had the opportunity 16 years ago to do something on it and chose not to."

The same Roberts Court would have thrown any such law out short of a Constitutional Amendment which the Democrats never had an opportunity to pass. realize one important point:

"In 1970, Jane Roe (a fictional name used in court documents to protect the plaintiff's identity) filed a lawsuit against Henry Wade, the district attorney of Dallas County, Texas, where she resided, challenging a Texas law making abortion illegal except by a doctor's orders to save a woman's life. In her lawsuit, Roe alleged that the state laws were unconstitutionally vague and abridged her right of personal privacy, protected by the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments."

When the Roberts Court threw out Roe v Wade they basically said that a woman does not have the rights cited ; right of personal privacy, protected by the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments." I honestly just can't wait until a more liberal court decides that every idiot in America does not have a Constitutional Right to buy and own an AR15. When that happens the hypocritucal Pro-Life busybodies will discover that valueing human life shoulld not be limited to unwanted fetuses, already born children matter too which basically proves that the whole Pro-Life movement is really just a political tool used by the Republicans to retain the support of the religious right which they need to win elections; do none of y'all remember Donald Trump of the 1980's; pro-choice in those days. But he holds up a bible and pretends to be this devout Christian and y'all completely buy it. If it wasn't so bad for America it would be funny to watch him do his Christian Act!

Today I heard Musk say they want to cut spending by 3 trillion dollars but no acknowledgement that Trumo's tax cuts for the rich and inue tfor corporations went mostly to top executives in bonuses etc.

"Was expensive and eroded the U.S. revenue base. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated in 2018 that the 2017 law would cost $1.9 trillion over ten years,[3] and recent estimates show that making the law's temporary individual income and estate tax cuts permanent would cost another roughly $400 billion a year beginning in 2027.[4] Together with the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts enacted under President Bush (most of which were made permanent in 2012), the law has severely eroded our country's revenue base. Revenue as a share of GDP has fallen from about 19.5 percent in the years immediately preceding the Bus h tax cuts to just 16.3 percent in the years immediately following the Trump tax cuts, with revenues expected to rise to an annual average of 16.9 percent of GDP in 2018-2026 (excluding pandemic years), according to CBO. This is simply not enough revenue given the nation's investment needs and our commitments to Social Security and health coverage." It is a permanent reduction in revenue for the Federal Government

So what Musk is really saying is he wants to make the Trump tax cuts which arre set to expire in 2025, permanent for the rich and F**K! THE REST OF US! sO HIS CLAIM THAT IT WILL A "temporary hardship" IS A FLAT OUT LIE AND HE KNOWS IT! tEMPORARY MY ASS! tHEY WANT TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT TEMPORARY BY MAKING THOSE TAX CUTS PERMANT! Musk and Trump want to cut 2 Trillion from Sodial Sevurity and Mrficare to continue tax cuts that flow to the rich and corporations. electing Trump will have a direct cost to the elderly, most of whom are barely making it now!

Many or even most of the divisions in America today date back to the Civil Rights era and have been with us from that time; cThe Right ombined several emotional issues to cd-1960's. Opposition to the Vietnam war was branded "unpatriotic" by conservatives because the reasoning behind that war was we were fighting sgainst "Godless Communism." And the right held onto that even after we came to our senses and got out of Vietnam but soon after that 9-11 happened and provided a "Pearl Harborlike Event" that George W. Bush used to justify invading Iraq though it is documented that the plsn had been laid out years before 9-11 so that we could capture Iraq's oil fields (PNAC). So the Right combined several emotional issues to create a powerful political force they combined white resentment of Civil Rights, simple minded flag waving patriotism, objections to birth control and abortion combined with Evangelical Christianity, fear of women's liberation and gay rights and called it opposition to "Woke". The Right gained significant power this way which is still exerting tremendous desire to move our nation back to what conservatives view as better times so I just wanted to pick one major part of their coalition and look at where it really came from. I'm old enough to remember the growth of the major parts of the conservative coalition appearing in American politics and when they seemed to join other parts to create what Trump named MAGA, though without specifying the year that was so great we should want to return to it but it is obviously in the past, probably 40-50 years ago.
