Here if Florida we have towns like Davie which has an active rodeo arena and which celebrates the cowboy culfure within a short distance of Wilton Manors, well known for gar bars and nightlife. That town decided to elebrate Pride by painting the crosswalks in rainbow colors and it wasn't even controversial until our idiotic Governor got the Legislature to make that illegal and he demanded compliance in his foolish anti-gay crusade which I believe is really just another Republican attempt to divide people and bring hate into the umbrella of "family values" in his early efforts to define him in the 2028 Prrsidential race. To be honest, I think one of the other hopeful candidates will call him out for trying to stir up hate for political gain which is exactly the purpose of this bill which would give him power to suspend from office any locally elected officials who do anything to cast positive light on DEI or Pride. I don't think even most conservatives really want that.
