Amid all the horrors that have unfolded in the war on Ukraine, the Russian bombing of the Donetsk Academic Regional Drama Theater in Mariupol on March 16 stands out as the single deadliest known attack against civilians to date. An Associated Press investigation has found evidence that the attack was in fact far deadlier than estimated, killing closer to 600 people inside and outside the building. I hear Ulaanbaatar's not bad this time of year. And for just one Russian ruble you can get nearly 48 Mongolian tugriks. Naturally, the cost of living is less outside the capital, e.g. Zuunkhara, Onon, Moron, Bayankhongor, etc. You'll need to do some research, because you'll find life there necessitates making a few adjustments. That said, give a care for those left behind. I think of the colleague who hanged himself in the basement of the family home, where one of the kids found him dangling. Not good.
