By my personal metric?

By the happiness quotient.

I am happier today than I was in 2000.

And there is a good chance I will be even happier tomorrow.

Like we felt after Obama won. That was a wonderful feeling.

I wouldn't mind feeling that again.

They all have vested interests in making it a horse race.

And now we have all these pollsters. Some who are legit and some who are actively trying to skew the poll numbers.

But they are not The Media. They are but a small part of the media. Then there is this new tactic of "online betting". Where billionaires can make you think one candidate is more favored than the other.

Again. It all depends on which bubble you prefer to live in these days.

Oh I forgot to mention the mountains the deserts and the rivers and lakes and probably so much more.

I forget about all that is east of me because I don't leave the Lost Coast very much anymore.

It's just too nice here. But I do know if I don't like the weather where I am I can just drive an hour or so and find a whole different climate and some better weather.

but since they're NOT a secret......it's a challenge to enjoy them. congestion, high cost of living, many other problems everyone has (homelessness, poverty, etc) to one degree or another....

I know of a lot of "SECRET" places in California.

Of course they are not really secret. Just hard to get to. So fat lazy tourists don't bother. They just get an air bnb and enjoy the view. Which works for me! I can go the beach (which is only a mile away) and I bet there is no one there right now. Because they have to work and I don't! Ha! And here in Northern California we still have lots of unspoiled coastline lots of redwood forests and lots of empty beaches.

As for all the challenges? Yup! We got em! Which state does not have these same challenges?

More people means more challenges.

And so it goes ...

This is a pretty obtuse question.

It is pretty obtuse to claim the "media" is controlling the narrative.

You need to be more specific these days as the word "media" applies to so many things. And I am pretty sure they are not all on the same page. I have sampled quite a few.

Though making money is still a primary motivator to be sure for pretty much all of them.

Some do want a horse race. Definitely. Others just report what they believe s
are are the facts. Others take the facts and distort them to fit a narrative.

It really depends on which bubble you prefer to live in.

And AI algorithms will help you stay there.

"Your" Twitter does not allow free speech nor is it subject to the 1st amendment. The right to own a gun is not unlimited (as are most rights) and was never intended to be by the 2nd amendment. Do convicted criminals (prisoners) have a right to own firearms while in prison? Have they ever?

Online forums that are moderated by the site owners and are not restricted or limited by the 1st amendment. They can choose to allow lies or choose to not allow lies and misinformation as they see fit.

Yes, the creation of the Space Force did technically expand the federal government by establishing a new military branch, adding another layer of bureaucracy and personnel to the Department of Defense, although the extent of this expansion is considered relatively small compared to other government agencies.
