I'd accept this law as definitive and "resolved" if you accept in America the rest of what the UK has accepted as "resolved". And I bet you know exactly where I am going with this.
In the UK, possessing firearms requires a certificate issued by the police. The Firearms Act 1968 and subsequent amendments regulate firearms and their ammunition, and it is an offense to possess or acquire a firearm without a certificate. To obtain a certificate, applicants must demonstrate a "good reason" for ownership and be assessed as not posing a threat to public safety.
So according to your logic we should accept "The Firearms Act 1968" as definitive and resolved?
Because it's the law in the UK you know.
