You come here illegally you get deported. It's that simple.

Only to a simple mind.
The right to seek asylum is protected under U.S. and international law for those facing persecution in their home countries.
Crossing the U.S. border outside of official ports of entry (POE) to seek asylum is technically illegal entry, a misdemeanor, but asylum seekers are legally entitled to apply for protection, leading to complex situations where they are often detained, processed, and can face criminal charges for illegal entry before their asylum claims are heard, with recent policies like the "Circumvention of Lawful Pathways" rule restricting access to asylum for those crossing irregularly, despite legal challenges.
If no video comes forth, I'd say it probably is a fabricated account, and the surely extant video would prove that, which is why no video shown.

And I say whatever the feds say is not probably but most likely fabricated. At minimum "adjusted" to fit a narrative.
Right now I would believe a citizen ( a father & mother of six?) over the feds any day of the week. Twice as much on Sunday.
