Expect the new democratic government of Hungary to repeal its ridiculous terror laws against Antifa.

The previous administration formally lobbied the European Union (following Trumpy's lead) to place Antifa on its official block-wide terror registry. The new pro-EU government is abandoning this diplomatic campaign to align instead with standard Europol guidelines.

While the new government will roll back the generalized "terrorist organization" blanket label on a decentralized ideology, it will still prosecute actual acts of street violence. Specific criminal acts"such as the February 2023 Budapest assaults"will be handled via standard penal codes rather than weaponized national security registries.

Which is how it should be. It's good to see Hungary reversing its significant democratic backsliding that has occurred over the past decade.
