Multiple people have reportedly been shot at an Eid al-Fitr event in Philadelphia marking the end of Ramadan. The victims were injured on Wednesday afternoon near the 4700 block of Wyalusing Avenue, police sources told FOX 29. Hundreds of people were in attendance, according to FOX 29 reporter Steve Keeley. US small business owners' confidence slumped to its lowest level in 11 years in March amid escalating inflationary pressures and sluggish sales expectations, according to the National Federation of Independent Business. The small business optimism index dropped to 88.5, hitting its lowest since December 2012, per NFIB's latest report. It's been below the 50-year average of 98 for 27 straight months. NFIB Chief Economist Bill Dunkelberg said in a statement that "owners continue to manage numerous economic headwinds," adding that inflation is again the top concern for business owners, while tight labor market conditions also remain a challenge. Delving deeper, 25% of owners pointed to inflation as their top hurdle, an increase of two percentage points from February's reading. Moreover, the share of owners that said they're hiking average prices jumped to 28%.

The Federal Communications Commission formally notified Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) providers that, due to a lack of additional funding from Congress, the agency will only be able to fully fund the program through the month of April. Also today, in a letter to congressional leaders, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel urged immediate action before the program runs out of funds and participating households no longer receive the full ACP benefit. The letter also highlighted the immediate impact that the ACP enrollment freeze has had on households wishing to enroll in the program but are now unable to do so.
