Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

After interviewing 67 French and international experts, a working group of the French Senate concluded that transitional treatments will be considered "one of the biggest ethical scandals in the history of medicine." "An ethical scandal endorsed by the medical profession, schools, universities, the media and politicians," adds the report commissioned by the Les Rpublicains party, which then promised to introduce laws to prohibit treatments for minors under 18 years of age. The report ensures that surgeries and treatments in general - such as puberty blockers - have increased in recent years due to the evidence-lacking promise that treatments are reversible and the unwillingness to consider other possible causes of young people's discontent, such as anxiety or some type of trauma, such as having suffered sexual abuse. It also lists other factors such as pressure from doctors towards parents and the influence of social media

Both the article and the report are an insult to the scientific method. I'm going to assume you didn't bother to read the report since it is in French and because even when they are in English you have a demonstrated history of posting sciency sounding articles that misrepresent the source material.
If you had read the report and were honest about it then you would have acknowledged in your description that this is not a peer reviewed scientific survey. You would have also pointed out that it was compiled by a right wing political party and acknowledges on the first page that it contains a deliberate sampling bias. The unnamed "67 French and international experts" were selected because they had previously expressed views that supported those held by the party.

Jeff never reads the studies (Or in this case "study").

Half the time, they end up saying the OPPOSITE of what he claims. Look at his history with the COVID vaccination studies.

The only Covid study (Bellringer) has posted has been the adverse effect lockdowns had on child development.

I don't know where you get this notion that I'm opposed to the Covid vaccines given I got th3 jab more than once.

What about that study you posted that you claimed showed liberals favor government censorship but actually showed conservatives were just as likely to support government censorship as liberals?

#4 | Posted by johnny_hotsauce at 2024-03-26 04:56 PM | Reply

I don't recall that study. I will point out that over the past several years liberals have fullly embraced censorship with a few notable exceptions.

"liberals have fullly embraced censorship"

Oh ---- off.

Demanding people follow the terms of service they agreed to is not "fully embraced censorship" Jeff.

We cant get a media company to host a server (think liability) or a platform without a TOS. Even truth social has one virtually identical to Xitter.

Get it? Even trumps "free speech" truth social has a terms of service that they enforce.

They have to.

#11 Says the poster that doubled down on being wrong, copied it and pasted it on a thread. But hats off Alex, you won the Retort YTD with that post.

You're drunk. i was referencing jeff saying here and elsewhere that lefties moderating websites was "censorship". its not, even trump does it.

I really didn't mean to hijack the thread onto censorship. Actually I guess Jeff is the one who really did that when they didn't even bother to try to defend this turd of an article they posted.

This study as Johnny points out is definitely biased in it's approach. However, having argued these exact points I'm just waiting for the "down the road" when we are posting stories on here like this that aren't biased. It will be just like the covid school closures unforeseen impact articles. Everyone here saying we couldn't have known. We knew, you just told us we were wrong.

Show of hands - who honestly believes that puberty blockers (when 4 of 5 gender confused pre-pubescents revert to their birth sex post puberty is a good idea? How about chemical castration and disfiguration of minors, who aren't mentally developed enough to grant informed consent to these permanently life-altering procedures?

Historians will take an extremely harsh view of this barbarity.

"gender confused pre-pubescents revert to their birth sex"

It has been
0
Days
Since JeffJ deliberately conflated gender and sex

#24 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-03-27 03:54 PM | Reply

That's because when a male accepts that he's a man it's a man accepting the sex he was born with.

With trans it's gender because the trans person does not accept the sex the trans person was born with.

This really isn't a difficult concept and it's strange how bothered you are by it.

#25 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-03-27 04:00 PM | Reply

You're deliberately conflating them again.

#26 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-03-27 04:02 PM | Reply

I'm speaking the truth. This is basic biology.

#27 | Posted by BellRinger at 2024-03-27 04:04 PM | Reply

No, you're not. You refuse to acknowledge the difference between sex and gender. You also refuse to accept it's normal for sex and gender to not always be aligned with one another.

It's like if you said females are only ever sexually attracted to males. It flies in the face of observed reality.

#28 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-03-27 04:08 PM | Reply

Gender and Sex only seem to be different when one doesn't act like the societal expectations... which is funny since there is a whole different argument that we shouldn't ever be judging people that way.
