This is a great example of why not to heroicize anyone. Just because a person does something good, or is good at something (like sports), doesn't make them a good person.

The truth is, you never can tell what someone is capable of. Especially when they think nobody is watching, or that they can get away with it.

To put anyone on a pedestal is to set yourself up for disappointment, and you risk the presumption of condoning their behavior.

The only thing up for debate is whether we are still in the driver's seat.

Will melting permafrost take over as the primary input of atmospheric greenhouse gas and complete the positive loop? Or, will changes in oceanic currents (and the ocean heat balance overall) initiate the next ice age?

These are just a few reasonable theories. The status quo is not a reasonable theory.

We don't really know. These are just a couple "tipping points". But we gonna find out!

We don't have the resource to change the regime. This is guaranteed to be a repeat of Iraq, except in bigger area with bigger bombs. Fallujah had around 300k people before we invaded. Tehran has 9 million just in the city proper.
