Nah, if I ever got to vote on how to solve America's financial crisis I would be voting to greatly increase the taxes on the billionaire caste. Of course, that will never happen since those super rich people are able to buy off Congress and of course, many important pelicans at the state level.

As an old man I do think about the world after my passing, but truth be told, I think I may have lived through humanity's heyday...the 1950-1965 years, when life was fairly simple, the air was cleaner, the water less polluted, and hope was in the air.

As a veteran I wonder what their excuse is from discouraging veterans from using the VA medical system. We used to have same day appointments. now it takes weeks to see someone.

Think I exaggerate? Research Nixon's two political campaigns to get elected, both in 1968 and in 1972. He had the National Guard march onto college campuses and four students at Kent State were murdered...and then Nixon won reelection.
Hate works, it is pretty much all the Trump gang has at this point as people know they are all about weakening America, dividing us one from another and from our previous allies. Those allies are Putin's enemies, so of course they are Trump's enemies as well.

I really think Talarico would be a great Senator...and it makes sense for me to mention that I am an atheist. I have listened to a lot of his videos, and have the sense he uses his religion to empower himself and to engage with like minded people, and in no way is he a danger to those of us who see things differently.

Well, one positive for me, seeing her photo and reading of what she has doing reminded me that otherwise she had departed from the daily news, and thank goodness for that.

I notice I post more these days, partially because I honestly fear that our right to express ourselves will be curtailed soon, as independent voices are shut down in Russia. We are losing more and more places to express ourselves. And big money is buying up more and more outlets...

I do hope the 2028 elections are held as scheduled, and Newsom runs in the primaries,, along with many other experienced and courageous Democrats, so the country can hear what those who cherish democracy and the rule of law sound like.

Good thing the investigation is not going on in the US, as our legal system is so corrupted by big money and Trump that one could be pretty sure the guilty would go free and those who pointed out the astoundingly massive money laundering would be harassed terribly.

So, when Trump does stuff that is to Putin's advantage, I just figure it is more of Trump dividing us one from another and from our historic allies, like Canada and the UK. We are led by people who really, really don't care.

Years ago, when Trump started his grifting Presidency, I said that it felt like American fascism was being encouraged by him. Now, it is clear that American fascism is on the march, in each and every MAGA stronghold, and I fear that includes the Supreme Court as well.

And who does the chaos help, and who does it hurt? This is just a repeat of the insane Nixon Presidency, when students were murdered by National Guard troops at Kent State, and the far right ginned up as much hate for fellow Americans as it could.

I am old and yet have never seen such a disconnect between the people and their needs and the conduct of the Republican political class bending a knee to the oligarchs.

We are led by greedy grifting thugs...at least that is how I see today's Republican Party under Trump. They are intent on taking from the poor, including health care and enriching the rich...so those aforenamed rich can send them millions of dollars of support through Pacs.

What good is MAD, mutually assured destruction, without being able to drop a few nuclear bombs on one's enemy? Goodby Moscow, it was nice to know you and your pretend democracy....is that what the future holds for our "civilization"?
