Regarding simulation theory.. if it's true then I imagine the simulation engine isn't remotely similar to what we're on the verge of accomplishing with the metaverse/VR.. but this reality is real enough, and we're bound to it.. so does it really matter? I still need to get up and go to work every day.
regarding VR being a real reality.. to some degree. I've been looking into this lately and reading the book Snow Crash, who's author originally coined the term "metaverse". I do look forward to having a virtual coffee with some long lost high school friend.. or having virtual business meetings every bit as good as being in person, and not having to take the 6am to Denver.
