A report from the Senate Judiciary Committee has provided the most in-depth look into how the Donald Trump, Mark Meadows and other Trump allies with links to the Jan 6 rally and insurrection pressured DOJ officials to endorse the false claims that the election was stolen and to assist in Trump's effort to overturn the election results. The report also covers Jeffrey Clark who circulated a "proof of concept letter that falsely stated the DOJ had evidence of election irregularities and urged the Georgia legislature to appoint a new slate of electors. The letter, if met with success, would be replicated for additional states. In addition, the report details how Trump forced the resignation of BJay Pak after he refused to validate false election claims and how Trump was stopped from replacing acting AG Rosen with Clark when top assistant AG's threatened to resign if Trump did so.

Taliban fighters are upset at the US after learning that equipment abandoned at the Kabul airport had been rendered inoperable before the US withdrew. Taliban members believed the equipment (vehicles, aircraft and weapons systems) to be national assets that could be leveraged by the new government. CENTCOM Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie confirmed that "the equipment had been disabled and in the end none of it was mission capable."

"Von Ehlinger admitted to the sexual encounter, but said it was consensual. He told members of the ethics committee he did not believe it was inappropriate for a lawmaker to have a sexual relationship with a 19-year-old legislative staffer."

Attention 39 year-old men, 19 year-olds who you work with you and who you have leverage over due to your position of power and money do not want to have sex with you. You are gross and creepy.

I remember a time when I was 18 or 19. A coworker of mine got me into a gay bar to watch a drag show. I was hanging out near the bar and some guy in his mid to late 40's offered to buy me a drink. I told him "no thanks. I already have one." He tells the bartender "these young guys don't realize who has all of the money." The bartender, who actually knew me he lived next door to my best high school friend, replied to the guy "I'm going to let you in on a few secrets. One - I'm pretty sure he's straight. Two - I'm pretty sure he's not old enough to be here. Three - You are a creep and need to leave."

Even though it didn't even register to me at the moment he asked to buy me a drink that he was coming onto me, when he made his follow up comment to the bartender I realized what he was really asking and felt sudden revulsion. It was disgusting that he thought he could use his money as leverage to persuade me even though my response made it clear I was not showing interest in him. I promised myself right then I would never allow myself to be the older guy using his position/money to get someone to do something they didn't want to do. I never wanted to make anyone feel the way I felt at that moment.
