He's a rich white guy so his opinion is super important.

Correct. He was story runner of Doctor Who for a number of years. Conservative white males tried to cancel him because he turned the doctor "woke" as they liked to say. They either never watched the show or were too dumb to recognize that the Doctor, just as pretty much all sci-fi, has long been "woke".

If you read what he said, you might pickup on him drawing a parallel between Hitler and Donald Trump.

My first thoughts when reading the headline was thank you propublica for reporting on the judiciary and then I wonder how often this happens.

When you go to vote this fall remember that Republicans are blocking efforts to reign in the corrupt and lawless behavior of the judiciary. Do you want to live in a country where judges are exempt from the laws and can abuse their power and jail defendants without cause?

If the government wanted to stop undocumented immigration then they could just start levying fines against those who employ them of $100K per violation and increase enforcement of labor laws.
That would put a real quick stop to much of it.
They won't do that though because their wealthy donors are the ones benefitting the most from it.

I think I figured out why Trump is upset about the location. He told organizers he wanted the convention in that city with all the snow that starts with an M and had something to do with cow's but he couldn't remember it's name. They incorrectly assumed he meant Milwaukee when he was talking about Moscow.

No surprise the Trump admin would do this. I mean Trump was running a very public anti-vax campaign himself.

There is a straight forward, easy to understand bill sitting in US House that Republicans have refused to take action on since it was introduced on Jan 17, 2023 that would amend the current law that regulates full auto weapons to include bump stocks. The bill is cosponsored by 135 Dems and 1 GOP member

What does "after", "mostly and "protected" mean?

Does after only mean during the pregnancy or does it mean during the life of the baby up to a certain age?
Mostly can mean greater than 50%. If that's the case then you can just stop talking as 90+% of abortions occur during the first trimester.
Does mostly mean your world would allow for exceptions? If so, based on what?
Does protected mean you would guarantee the mother the right to healthcare, housing, food and other necessities and comforts that increase the chance of a healthy child? Does it mean partners with a history of violence must surrender their guns or even be removed from the home if the household is expecting a child?
Why only after the first trimester? Why don't you believe that pregnancies where the mother intends to carry through term should not be protected?

Weiss sat on serious allegations to allow for the statute of limitations to kick in. Weiss then worked up a plea deal where this case never would have seen a courtroom until the presiding judge began asking questions and found the nuts and bolts of the plea deal to be so ridiculous that she wouldn't allow it to stand. So yeah, it sure seems pretty rigged.

Take it up with Donald Trump. He's the one who appointed Weiss to the job.

It will be interesting to see what the 3rd circuit appeals court rules on this (assuming there will be an appeal). Will they go the way of the 5th and declare the law violates 2A or will they uphold the ruling and setup an appeal to SCOTUS.

That would create some interesting political irony with this radical far right SCOTUS tossing the conviction of someone who has been demonized by the far right while at the same time the case of US v Biden would result in overturning an important gun control measure after Joe Biden has fought for decades to expand gun control.

In Canada they call out your treason. In the US they appoint you to head a committee in the US House.
