Most undocumented people in the US are here as a result of overstaying their visa. That is a civil violation, not a criminal offense.

I work for a regional healthcare company and for us I know the reason we are having a downturn is due to increased difficulty in obtaining payment from public health insurers.
On the financial update call, the leader who was presenting financials, who is a slightly outspoken republican, was asked if the current layoffs were in anticipation of public insurance funding cuts being discussed in congress. The response was "No. We will have to reevaluate should that occur. My current hope is that the big beautiful does not pass in its current form."

That statement, along with the reason for our current cutbacks, signaled to me that should the new budget reduce public healthcare funds then we will likely respond by closing facilities with higher ratios of patients on public insurance plans than private, e.g. rural facilities.

My company just informed me that I, along with most people on my team, will not be receiving a pay increase. We also just laid off people for only the third time in the past 30 years. Things are feeling an awful like 2008 again based on my personal experience.

This guy is no different than any other illegal immigrant. It's like saying since I've done work with Norway, I should have the right to enter Norway under illegal conditions.
