Luckily, there's already an approved influenza vaccine platform that isn't mRNA and, IIRC, they already have H5N1 vaccines produced and stored as a precaution.

Only downside is it requires growing the virus in eggs and processing the concentrated viral stocks produced in the eggs to make the vaccine product. That takes time, but that time is less than the time Operation Warp Speed took to produce the COVID vaxx up until the point of clinical trials (about 9 months IIRC). mRNA will probably be ready far earlier for those willing to take it.

As an example, the Novartis 2009 H1N1 vaccine was approved on September 15, 2009. The virus was first detected in the US in April 2009 and was declared a pandemic in June 2009.

I thought it would take longer before MAGA learned they were being used.

Problem is, they still think they have the answers and should have an outsized say in the future direction of this country.

Right now, Vivek and Elon are taking the brunt of it, but it will get spicy when it becomes clear Trump isn't onboard with their views either.

I'm almost starting to think the MAGA base is being put through intentional cycles of hope and despair/anger on purpose. First, it was to rile them up and keep them voting to gain power. Now, it's to get them to start getting too uppity, allowing the seizure of significant "emergency" power while creating an excuse to cull the most heavily armed and lowest IQ among us.

I mean, in most states this is true.

They're not entirely wrong.

However, some of the numbers and info I'm seeing belie the "highly skilled" aspect of this as cover for "lower wage" than an American would expect to be paid.

The whole episode is hilarious, though, as MAGA is learning early that the people they've clung to adoringly think of them as s*&^ to be wiped off their shoe now that the election is over.
